Triggering: click a pad or press its hotkey. Pads fire on press, not release, for the lowest latency. Hotkeys work for the active bank only; F1 F2 F3 switch banks. A green dot on a bank button means something is playing in it.
Trigger modes: Toggle starts and stops; Retrigger restarts from the in-point every press; Hold plays only while the pad or key is held. Mute groups make pads in the same group cut each other (for example, beds).
Show Lock: the Lock button hides every edit, delete, import and reset control, so a stray click on air cannot damage the show.
Arranging: drag the grip handle on a pad onto another pad to swap them (hotkeys stay with the slot). Drop one or many audio files on a pad; extra files fill the next empty pads. Clicking an empty pad opens a file picker.
Editor: drag on the waveform to set in/out points, audition with a moving playhead, set gain in dB, or press Normalise to peak at -1 dBFS. For precise edits, zoom the waveform with the magnifier buttons or the mouse wheel over it (the zoom follows the point you last moved, or the pointer for the wheel); a time ruler appears while zoomed, and the slider or Shift + wheel scrolls. Cancel discards all changes.
Undo: clearing or removing a pad shows an Undo button for a few seconds.
Saving: everything auto-saves to this browser's IndexedDB (status shown in the footer). Use Export for a portable .harrison backup and keep one off the machine. A .harrison file is a standard ZIP: rename it to .zip to open it and find your original audio files inside.
Emergency Stop: Space or Esc stops everything (Esc closes an open dialog first). Space can be disabled in Settings.
